We spent Saturday looking around at the various Church history sites in Palmyra, including the Hill Cumorah, the Smith farm (including the Sacred Grove), and the Grandin press. (The sister missionary that did the tour -- Sister Brent -- it turns out is from Roy, but aside from that she was the best tour guide ever. It's like she was born to do tours at Church history sites. This was good because the last time I went to the Grandin press, the missionary that did it was really boring. (Sorry, but it's true!))
It was a great time. Here are pictures.
We climbed to the top of the hill, where there is a statue of Moroni. In this shot, it looks like he has a halo!
Me with the statue.
Nice view of the Moroni statue (and the flag, blowing in the breeze) from a little further down the hill.
Me and the Palmyra temple, taken from the Smith Farm.
The Sacred Grove.
Me in the Sacred Grove.
Look who I ran into at the pageant! Nathan Perry! (Good friend from Albany.)
On our way out on Sunday we stopped by the Whitmer Farm, where the Church was organized in 1830. We didn't go on a tour this time, because they weren't offering them for another hour and we wanted to get on the road and not wait.
I liked these flowers that were planted at the Whitmer Farm.
On the way home we stopped in Harrisburg, PA and I added capitol #25 to my list! I'm officially halfway there!

Just think - in less than one month I will be living a mere half an hour away from there :)And only 6 hours away from you! That is so much closer than the 35+ hours that currently separate us ;)
