Albany bound

I'm behind in my blog. A bunch of fun things have happened that I keep meaning to blog about, and I promise I will. But this one is more for everyone's information. Just in case you haven't read the "Where's Elizabeth?" thing on the side, or done the math to realize how long I'll be gone.

My PhD dissertation adviser just moved to Albany, NY. He just started as a professor at Siena College. He's still my adviser, despite the fact that he's lived in Colorado, Miami, and now Albany; a different city every year. It's a long story.

Anyway, the short of MY story this week is that I'm going to Albany to visit him and get some serious work done. I'll be in Albany for 3 1/2 weeks, then I'm heading down to Baltimore for a conference for a week, then to D.C. to play for a couple days. Then back to Austin.

I leave next Wednesday (September 17). I will be back October 22. It's exactly 5 weeks. I'm looking forward to it and not looking forward to it at the same time. Funny how that works. I'll try and post things about my adventures in Albany/Baltimore/D.C. in the coming weeks. So everyone (especially my mom :) ) knows I'm alive and not just surviving, but thriving. :) But I will miss Austin.

OOOH Girl! Enjoy the Air and Space Museum on your trip to D.C.! I could have spent all day there if I didn't have two tired kids and one bored husband tagging along!

So jealous! I love to travel. You're brave though. I don't know how you have the courage to do it all. Thanks for being willing to share your journey with me, the gypsy with her feet semi-nailed to the floor. It means a lot. Good luck.
