Today was my birthday.
I went to work. Went to a meeting with the other post docs where we talked about how lame having an office in the basement is. Well, and other things too.
To celebrate properly, I met up with a few friends to see the Hubble 3D IMAX movie. It was as cool as ever! It was followed by dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I tried their red velvet cake cheesecake and was in heaven.
I bought a new camera yesterday. But you won't believe this...I don't have any pictures of tonight. Alas! But the thing is...blogspot's picture uploader seems to hate me lately anyway, as every time I've tried uploading pictures in the last month, it's failed. (Hence, I have not updated in awhile...every time I do, I get mad at it and then do something else instead.)
My birthday celebration will continue to stretch into the next two weeks. I'm flying to Israel tomorrow! It's true, I'm finally taking the trip of my life. Here's hoping it goes well. I'm going with a friend and his parents. It's a long, lucky story.
I will post pictures of it when I get back. (That is, if blogspot decides to stop hating me.) Meanwhile, I think he will be updating his blog from his phone while we're on the road. At least that's what he said he was going to try and do. I make no promises. In fact, I can't even make any promises that I'll be any of the pictures or mentioned in any of his blog posts. But you might want to check it out anyway, to get some highlights of our trip as it happens.

(He only has a couple test posts up right now. We don't leave until tomorrow night.)
See you in two weeks!

I feel really awesome about your birthday and your continuing birthday awesomeness. ISRAEL!!!
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my roommate this week:
Her: I'm going to be gone on Wednesday.
Me: Oh, where are you going?
Her: Norway.
Offices with no windows are sad because you have no idea what the weather is outside. But it's also like a nice surprise when you finally walk outside.
Happy Birthday!
Have a fantastic extended birthday in Israel!!!! Hopefully it will be the best birthday ever!
I am SO excited for you - I hope you have the most amazing time ever :) I will definitely be checking out his blog on a regular basis in an attempt to keep tabs on you.
Thought about you last night at the play, and wished you could have been there with me - but alas, twas not to be :( You will have more than enough fun in the next two weeks to make up for it though!
Happy Birthday! I'm so glad you had a good time. I can't wait to hear about your Israeli adventures!
